Make it four blowout wins for the David Anderson Blue Devils this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat East Palestine 82-54 on the road. Given David Anderson's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while East Palestine is ranked 768th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Palestine lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being RJ May, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points May has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Owen Jurjavicic, who scored 11 points along with six assists.
Even though they lost, East Palestine were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
David Anderson pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for East Palestine, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
David Anderson will head out on the road to face off against Columbiana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Palestine, they will be playing at home against Academy for Urban Scholars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Academy for Urban Scholars has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 13.
