Central Magnet will take on the Eagleville Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Central Magnet fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Giles County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 5-3. Central Magnet's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Braylon Dowell and Joseph Rowell did some serious damage despite the final result: Dowell went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Rowell went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Rowell has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Coons, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Eagleville made easy work of Middle Tennessee Monarchs on Tuesday and carried off a 7-1 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by six runs or more this season.
Spencer Robbins made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Robbins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brady Burns, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Karsyn Knowles was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Eagleville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in five consecutive games.
Eagleville pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Central Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Central Magnet has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eagleville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Central Magnet suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Eagleville when the teams last played back in March. Will Central Magnet have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
