Volleyball Recap: Cumberland's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Cumberland can bid farewell to their 15-match losing streak thanks to their match on Saturday. They came out on top against the Menomonie Mustangs by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Beavers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Cumberland never let Menomonie on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 27-25.

Cumberland picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-25. As for Menomonie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Menomonie has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Amery on the 11th. Hopefully Cumberland paid attention to the Mustangs' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
