Girls Prep is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Walker Valley is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bruisers will host the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Girls Prep 3.4, Walker Valley 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Girls Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Signal Mountain, taking the game 6-3. The Bruisers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Girls Prep got a great performance from Addison Jones as she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Jones a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Calieah Reyes was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Ansley Bratcher was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
Girls Prep hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 14 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Walker Valley beat New Hope 5-2 on Friday.
Olivia Presswood made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Davenport, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Autumn Lanclos, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Walker Valley's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Girls Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
Girls Prep's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's match. The Bruisers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Walker Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Girls Prep continue to outrun the ball?
