The Xavier College Prep Gators will square off against the Sunnyslope Vikings at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sunnyslope's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Xavier College Prep hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Gators never let Desert Ridge get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.
Angie Falls was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sariah McNabb, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joie Ramos, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Xavier College Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Sunnyslope waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with an 18-0 win. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Sunnyslope got a massive performance out of Miriam Boice, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Molly Nordstrom, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double.
Xavier College Prep's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Sunnyslope, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 10-12.
Sunnyslope's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Xavier College Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Sunnyslope, though, as they've been averaging only 2.5 strikeouts. Will Xavier College Prep keep running through batters, or will the Vikings buck the trend?
