The Ashley Screaming Eagle will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the West Brunswick Trojans at 6:30 p.m. West Brunswick took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Ashley, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Ashley had just enough and edged the Buccaneers out 30-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Ashley.
Ashley can attribute much of their success to Bella Cook, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, and Anna Benfield, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. Benfield has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Palyn Everhart, who scored four points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, West Brunswick took a serious blow against the Vikings on Friday, falling 49-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Brunswick has scored all season.
Ashley's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for West Brunswick, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9.
Ashley couldn't quite finish off the Trojans in their previous meeting back in January and fell 47-44. Will Ashley have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
