Things were looking good for Logan County after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Rossview by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

Addison Cartas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Brenley Adler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Todd County Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Warren Central on Monday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Olivia Weikel was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Weikel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Aubrey Perone and Addison Woodall did most of the damage at the plate: Perone went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI, while Woodall scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two triples gave Perone a new career-high. Ella Hall was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Logan County now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Todd County Central, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Logan County skirted past Todd County Central 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Logan County repeat their success, or does Todd County Central has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
