Basketball Recap: North Davidson Skates Past Starmount with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Davidson). They blew past the Starmount Rams 79-46 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Black Knights with their most commanding win of the season.

North Davidson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miller McKnight led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 assists. What's more, McKnight also racked up two boards, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Amir Dalton, who posted 12 points and five assists.

McKnight wasn't the only one working in the assists department: North Davidson was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Starmount lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Colton Allen, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Ryley Rodriguez was another key player, putting up 14 points.

The win made it two in a row for North Davidson and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Starmount, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

North Davidson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 71-52 victory against Jordan-Matthews on the 26th. As for Starmount, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-64 defeat against Triad Baptist Christian Academy on the 27th.
