Masuk is 9-1 against Notre Dame Prep since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lancers at 4:00 p.m. Masuk is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Masuk took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against New Fairfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Rebels 11-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Connor Fulchino made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Fulchino was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Zylick, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Jersen Perez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Masuk always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Fairfield only posted an OBP of .389.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Notre Dame Prep was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of Immaculate by a score of 3-2.
Justin Ramos made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.
Masuk's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Masuk hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Notre Dame Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Masuk took their victory against Notre Dame Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Lancers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
