The West Rowan Falcons will square off against the Alexander Central Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Rowan will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
If West Rowan beats Alexander Central with 11 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. West Rowan put the hurt on Concord with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Falcons have won four matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brant Graham spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, West Rowan got a massive performance out of Cole Blevins, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Blevins has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brice Knox, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
West Rowan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Concord only posted a batting average of .250.
Meanwhile, Alexander Central came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-2 win over North Davidson on Tuesday. That looming 7-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Cougars yet this season.
Alexander Central also got a great performance from Carter Bowman as he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). Bowman is becoming a predictor of Alexander Central's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Koa Mikeal, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Chapman-Mays, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
West Rowan pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Alexander Central, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Alexander Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Rowan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Alexander Central, though, as they've been averaging 9.8 hits. Given West Rowan's sizable advantage in that area, Alexander Central will need to find a way to close that gap.
West Rowan came up short against Alexander Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 3-0. Will West Rowan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
