Meanwhile, Westwood Baptist Academy came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against South Pemiscot by a score of 64-54.
Westwood Baptist Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was James Hawley out in front who scored 29 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The matchup was Hawley's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ben Jones was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Marquand-Zion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Westwood Baptist Academy, they have yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-1 record.
