Even though the East Liverpool Potters have not done well against the Oak Glen Golden Bears recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. East Liverpool walked away with a 41-32 victory over Oak Glen. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Liverpool.
East Liverpool got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kenzie Headley out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Headley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dacianelle Andrews, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Oak Glen lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reecelyn Craig, who scored two points along with 11 rebounds and five steals. Craig has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tia Vick, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Oak Glen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Liverpool only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
East Liverpool has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Oak Glen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
East Liverpool will be playing in front of their home fans against United at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Oak Glen, they will head out on the road to take on Weir at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Oak Glen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday.
