The Patriot Prep Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 45-21 loss at the hands of Grove City Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Patriot Prep Academy has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Grove City Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Vanzuiden, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Smith, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Patriot Prep Academy bumped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.2 points per game. As for Grove City Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patriot Prep Academy and Ohio School for the Deaf will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Grove City Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wellington School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wellington School is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
