South Mecklenburg won the last time they faced Olympic and things went their way on Friday too. The South Mecklenburg Sabres blew past the Olympic Trojans 55-30. The Sabres have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.

South Mecklenburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hope Kluttz out in front who went 7 of 10 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Kluttz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nykira Arrington, who posted seven points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.

South Mecklenburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chaya James, who put up four points in addition to five boards and three blocks. James is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played.

South Mecklenburg is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Olympic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

South Mecklenburg has already played their next matchup, a 69-31 win against Berry on the 28th. As for Olympic, they will look to defend their home court on January 31st against Ballantyne Ridge at 6:00 p.m. Olympic is facing Ballantyne Ridge at the right time seeing as Ballantyne Ridge is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
