After four games on the road, Illinois Lutheran is heading back home. They will take on the Clifton Central Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Illinois Lutheran will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 660th, while Clifton Central is ranked 286th).
Last Saturday, Illinois Lutheran suffered a tough 67-45 loss at the hands of Michigan Lutheran.
Michael Adeniran put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Adeniran scored a full 31.1% of Illinois Lutheran's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Biesterfeld, who scored eight points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Clifton Central entered their tilt with Reed-Custer with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Clifton Central came out on top against Reed-Custer by a score of 62-52 on Monday.
Illinois Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Clifton Central, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
Illinois Lutheran might still be hurting after the 46-26 loss they got from Clifton Central in their previous meeting back in January. Can Illinois Lutheran avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
