The Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Parsons Christian Academy by a score of 50-40. Given Global Outreach Charter Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Parsons Christian Academy is ranked 734th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Global Outreach Charter Academy was led to victory by Jason Martinez and Josue Rivera. Martinez scored 15 points, while Rivera scored 17 points.
Despite the defeat, Parsons Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Kon Kon scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Solomon Vickers, who scored seven points.
Global Outreach Charter Academy's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Parsons Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Global Outreach Charter Academy will challenge St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Parsons Christian Academy, Parsons Christian Academy and Christ's Church Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Christ's Church Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
