It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but William Floyd ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top against Walt Whitman by a score of 66-53. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for William Floyd considering their one-point performance the match before.
William Floyd's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shy Hawkins, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hawkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Meyer, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Patchogue-Medford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Thursday after their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and Walt Whitman wasn't particularly close, with Patchogue-Medford falling 56-42.
William Floyd's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Patchogue-Medford, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
