Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Patriots vs. The Fletcher School Falcons

The Victory Christian Academy Patriots will head out to face off against The Fletcher School Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Victory Christian Academy has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 25.

Victory Christian Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against New Manna Christian on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Victory Christian Academy lost 78-57 to New Manna Christian. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 564th, while the Wind are ranked 235th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Simiya Smith, who posted 37 points. Her evening made it 26 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jania Floyd, who earned 18 points.

Meanwhile, The Fletcher School fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Providence Classical last Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Paladins. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Paladins recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Victory Christian Academy's record now sits at 2-7. As for The Fletcher School, their record is now 4-7.

Everything came up roses for Victory Christian Academy against The Fletcher School in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, as the squad secured a 55-22 victory. In that game, Victory Christian Academy amassed a halftime lead of 39-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
