The Continental Pirates will be playing at home against the Ayersville Pilots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Continental has struggled recently with 24 losses in a row, while Ayersville will arrive with six straight victories.
Last Saturday, Continental came up short against Montpelier and fell 50-39. While losing is never fun, Continental can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while Montpelier is ranked 310th).
Meanwhile, Ayersville beat Stryker 37-24 on Saturday. Ayersville pushed the score to 33-11 by the end of the third, a deficit Stryker cut but never quite recovered from.
Ayersville had a senior duo take command as Ally Schindler scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Taylor Craft scored six points along with ten rebounds and five blocks. Schindler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Kendra Waldron was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Continental dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ayersville, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.
