Penelope Zoldak was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run. Elizabeth O'Meara also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three match, Lake Catholic brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They blew past Western Reserve Academy 14-6 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Lizzie Bammerlin made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Bammerlin was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jules Amato was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Jacobs, who went 2-for-5 with four runs and two stolen bases.
Lake Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Beaumont School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Lake Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.
