The Mountain View Toros will face off against the Perry Pumas at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
On Tuesday, Mountain View beat Westwood 7-3.
Lincoln Arrington looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two).
At the plate, Brady Goodman was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Brody Newton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Perry had just enough and edged out Basha 2-1 on Tuesday. The Pumas haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Michael Orbegozo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Max DeFrancesco, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.
Perry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Basha struck out eight times.
Mountain View's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
Mountain View came up short against Perry in their previous matchup back in March, falling 5-1. Will the Toros have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
