The Staunton Storm will be playing at home against the Waynesboro Little Giants at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Staunton came up short against Fort Defiance and fell 21-13.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Waynesboro, who are still winless after their ninth match. They suffered a rough 60-35 defeat at the hands of Riverheads on Friday. While losing is never fun, Waynesboro can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Riverheads is ranked 69th).
Staunton's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.0 points per game. As for Waynesboro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything came up roses for Staunton against Waynesboro when the teams last played back in September of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-10 win. Does Staunton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waynesboro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
