Basketball Recap: Auburndale Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Auburndale won the last time they faced Weyauwega-Fremont and things went their way on Saturday too. The Auburndale Apaches walked away with a 59-48 victory over the Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks. Given the Apaches' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Warhawks are ranked 359th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Auburndale pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Weyauwega-Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Auburndale and Neillsville will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Weyauwega-Fremont, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
