If the Fort Frye Cadets were riding high off their 66-35 takedown of the Point Pleasant Big Blacks last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fort Frye took a serious blow against the Warriors on Tuesday, falling 73-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Frye in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost nine in a row.
It was another big night for Trent Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 46 points and 11 rebounds for Warren. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Stadelman, who scored 13 points along with seven assists.
Fort Frye has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Warren, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Frye will take on the Zeps at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shenandoah is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Warren, they will be playing at home against the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
