The Alma Cardinals's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Southern Valley Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Alma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Monday.
Last Monday, Alma earned a 44-36 victory over Cambridge.
It was another big night for Addison Siebels, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Scott, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Southern Valley waltzed into their matchup on Monday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They enjoyed a cozy 58-42 win over Southwest. Given Southern Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Southwest is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alma's record now sits at 15-1. Southern Valley's record now sits at 16-1.
Alma came up short against Southern Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 57-47. Can Alma avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
