The Garfield G-Men's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 55-54 to Crestview. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Garfield in their matchups with Crestview: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Garfield had strong showings from Preston Gedeon, who went 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists, and Nick Edic, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edic has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Rock, who scored two points along with six rebounds and three steals.
It was another big night for justin mckee, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds for Crestview. Jonathan Best was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Garfield has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Crestview, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garfield will take on Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brookfield is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Crestview, they will head out on the road to challenge LaBrae at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. LaBrae will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
