The Marshfield Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Marshfield barely beat Holmen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Vikings on Friday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Molly Fox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lillian Griesbach, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Madison Kraus, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Marshfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against La Crosse Central as they made off with a 15-0 win. The Red Raiders haven't had any issues with the Riverhawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Sophia Nelson looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
At the plate, Sydney Holberg was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Annabelle Ross was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The win made it two in a row for Marshfield and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, their record now sits at 4-1.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Marshfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Marshfield couldn't quite get it done against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
