Alma has been on the road for six straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southern Valley Eagles at TBD on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Alma over the Warriors in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Alma enjoyed a cozy 56-37 win over the Warriors. Given Alma's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Warriors are ranked 174th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Alma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chayse Molzahn led the charge by scoring 11 points along with three steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tierston Moore, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Southern Valley had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.9 points), and they went ahead and made it 15 on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Chase County as Southern Valley made off with a 48-26 win. Southern Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Alma pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Southern Valley, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.
