After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Asheville Christian Academy, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Union County Panthers by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

While Rabun Gap-Nacoochee won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Danni Ledford and Savannah Byrd, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Riese Kirkland and her 22 assists. Ledford also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zoe Killian, racking up three apiece.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Union County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and Union County will both be playing Lumpkin County the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
