The Taconic Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the West Springfield Terriers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Taconic has four straight victories, West Springfield has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Springfield International scored an imposing 57 points last Friday, Taconic still came out on top. Taconic took their contest against Springfield International 66-57.
Meanwhile, West Springfield's 17-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. The match between West Springfield and Pittsfield wasn't particularly close, with West Springfield falling 70-53. While losing is never fun, West Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while Pittsfield is ranked 84th).
Taconic's victory was their 20th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.1 points. As for West Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
Everything came up roses for Taconic against West Springfield when the teams last played on January 5th as the team secured a 81-32 victory. With Taconic ahead 50-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
