It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Fresno Christian Eagles had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They managed a 32-28 victory over Mammoth. Fresno Christian's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for Logan Stotts, who rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 102 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Sheppard, who rushed for 33 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Fresno Christian's defense and their four sacks. Angel DeLeon was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Mammoth's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Matt Petroni, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Tyler Jones, who threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns.
Fresno Christian's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.38 points. As for Mammoth, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Fresno Christian will be playing at home against Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Sierra's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games. Mammoth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
