Madison (San Antonio, Texas) senior running back Aaron Green committed to Nebraska in an announcement made at the Maranatha Bible Church in Converse, Texas on Wednesday night.
The speedy Green chose the Cornhuskers over Texas, Florida State, and California.
Green is the nation’s No. 13 recruit in the class of 2011 according to Tom Lemming. He is the third best running back, behind
Kenny Hilliard and
Malcolm Brown.
After an injury-plagued junior season, Green has been sensational in 2010, rushing for 1,149 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder is the newest member of a deep Nebraska recruiting class that already boasts a dynamic quarterback in
Jamal Turner and an outstanding offensive line.
With Green off the board, uncommitted running backs are at an even greater premium. Among the top recruits still available the position include
Isaiah Crowell,
Savon Huggins, and
Andrew Buie.
