After two games on the road, Woodsboro is heading back home. They will take on the Three Rivers Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Woodsboro beat Yorktown 57-46.
Woodsboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Amarian Zambezi out in front who scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Layton Jochetz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Three Rivers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell to Skidmore-Tynan 66-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (58), Three Rivers still had to take the loss.
Woodsboro's win ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-19. As for Three Rivers, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8.
Woodsboro came up short against Three Rivers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 64-51. Can Woodsboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
