The Western Boone Stars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Tri-West Hendricks, falling 69-37. Western Boone was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tri-West Hendricks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Western Boone still got an impressive performance from Ki'erra Koch, who scored 13 points along with 5 assists. Ally Lewis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
Even though they lost, Western Boone were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-West Hendricks only pulled down five.
Tri-West Hendricks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lauren Bear, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 0 assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bear has scored at least 25% of Tri-West Hendricks' points. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Anthony, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Western Boone has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Tri-West Hendricks, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Boone will face off against Faith Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
