The California Grizzlies will head out to challenge the Monte Vista Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games California has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
On Monday, it was close, but California sidestepped Alameda for a 5-3 win.
California got a great performance from Gabriella Nudo as she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hailey King, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monte Vista). They came out on top against Dublin by a score of 11-8 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly three runs.
Samantha Kaiman made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Hailey Frantz was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Cece Kong was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Monte Vista hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dublin struck out eight times.
California has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Monte Vista, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Monte Vista's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: California has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Monte Vista, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given California's sizable advantage in that area, the Mustangs will need to find a way to close that gap.
California took their victory against Monte Vista when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
