The Northeast Academy Eagles will be playing at home against the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northeast Academy has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Pungo Christian Academy will arrive with four straight victories.
Last Friday, Northeast Academy lost to Christ Covenant on the road by a decisive 54-39 margin.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Judson Smith, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Parks, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Lawrence Academy scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Pungo Christian Academy still came out on top. Pungo Christian Academy took their game against Lawrence Academy 64-57.
Northeast Academy bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pungo Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Northeast Academy might still be hurting after the 75-53 defeat they got from Pungo Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northeast Academy was down 54-10.
