Meanwhile, Decatur was able to grind out a solid win over Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday, taking the game 4-1. The victory was just what Decatur needed coming off of an 8-0 loss in their prior contest.
Decatur also got a great performance from Brayden Larsen as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Jeremaiah Henning relieved him and did a solid job, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (he also only allowed one walk).
On the hitting side, Tyler Buol was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Landen Parker, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
