Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the South Lamar Stallions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 81-27 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. South Lamar lost against Wadley in their previous head to head back in November of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 29-8 score last time.
Leading Wadley to victory were Cortavion Lynch and Jaquez Wilkes. Lynch rushed for 88 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, while Wilkes rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Wilkes was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
South Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Wadley, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
South Lamar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wadley will square off against Pickens County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pickens County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 194 points over their last five matches.
