Canisius has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Wednesday. They will challenge the Cardinal O'Hara Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Canisius strolled past Jamestown with points to spare, taking the game 45-30.
Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara entered their tilt with Global Concepts with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cardinal O'Hara breezed by Global Concepts at home to the tune of 80-49. The result was nothing new for Cardinal O'Hara, who have now won three games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Cardinal O'Hara's win on Monday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kels Ivey, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Ivey continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Simmarion Threet, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Canisius' victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.5 points per game. As for Cardinal O'Hara, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Canisius took their win against Cardinal O'Hara when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 90-66. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canisius since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
