Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Vikings on Friday as they made off with a 5-1 win. Berkeley Prep might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won nine matchups by three goals or more this season.
They hit Bishop Verot with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Kate Anderson (2),
Emily Mcdermott,
Izzy Youssef, and
Kate Cunningham.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Berkeley Prep, bringing their record for this year to 16-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those seven contests. As for Bishop Verot, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-2-1.
Berkeley Prep will head out on the road to take on Montverde Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Montverde Academy is coming into the contest with three straight victories at home, so Berkeley Prep is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Bishop Verot does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
