After flying high against the Mesa Grande Academy Cardinals on Saturday, the Loma Linda Academy Roadrunners came back down to earth. Loma Linda Academy fell to Notre Dame 59-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Notre Dame's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Yirmeyah Michel led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven assists and five steals. The match was Michel's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caiden Broughton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Loma Linda Academy has fallen quite a ways from their 18-7-2 record last season and are now at 3-5. As for Notre Dame, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loma Linda Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against River Springs Charter School at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Notre Dame, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arroyo Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
