It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Grace Community Cougars had no problem doing just that on Friday. They managed a 33-28 victory over Midland Christian. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grace Community.
Loss or not, Midland Christian got some senior leadership from Brylee Perez who gained 186 total yards and two touchdowns and Colton Newsom who rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Grace Community's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Midland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Grace Community will face off against Liberty Christian at TBD on Saturday. Liberty Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten contests -- so hopefully Grace Community likes a good challenge. Midland Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
