Baseball Recap: Archbishop Wood's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Archbishop Wood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Roman Catholic, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's match. Archbishop Wood was the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over Roman Catholic on Monday. With that win, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.

Brady Sell looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, AJ Hopkins was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Vacca, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Archbishop Wood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roman Catholic only posted an OBP of .200.
