If the North Arlington Vikings were riding high off their 44-24 takedown of the Bergen Tech Knights last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Arlington was the victim of a rough 54-33 loss at the hands of Lyndhurst on Wednesday. North Arlington has not had much luck with Lyndhurst recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Lyndhurst to victory were Asya Akar and Sam Mayer. Akar scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Mayer scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals. The matchup was Akar's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooke Harper, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
North Arlington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Lyndhurst, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
North Arlington will head out on the road to face off against Secaucus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Secaucus is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Lyndhurst, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Weehawken at 5:30 p.m. Weehawken is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
