Princeton has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Boonville Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Princeton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Even though Decatur Central scored an imposing 74 points on Saturday, Princeton still came out on top. Princeton managed a 78-74 victory over Decatur Central.
Mallory Watt and Azaryon Wesley were among the main playmakers for Princeton as the former scored 22 points and the latter scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Lexi Smith, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Boonville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell to Castle 48-43. While losing is never fun, Boonville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Castle is ranked 69th).
Princeton's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Boonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Princeton skirted past Boonville 56-53 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Princeton repeat their success, or does Boonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
