Dolores are packing up and hiking across state lines for their contest on Friday. They will challenge Monument Valley on the road at 7:00 PM. Dolores aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.
Dolores took their game against Whitehorse last Friday by a conclusive 34-12 score. No one put up better numbers for Dolores than junior Isaiah Cordova, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 142 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Monument Valley, but their most recent matchup may have softened the blow. They took the matchup and then some with a 50-0 victory over Northwest. Followers of Monument Valley probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Their wins bumped Dolores to 1-3 and Monument Valley to 3-2. With both Dolores and Monument Valley swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
