East Wake Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday.  Lane Collier made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate,  firing off two  home runs, three  runs,  and three  RBI while going 3-for-3. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  James Duffield was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs. Another player making a difference was  Dexter Benton, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base.
 East Wake Academy was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NCSSM: Durham only posted a  batting average of  .250.
East Wake Academy's win was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-3. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for NCSSM: Durham, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record  this season.
 Coincidentally, East Wake Academy and NCSSM: Durham will both be playing Falls Lake the next time they take the field. The Eagles will  host the Firebirds at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday, while the Unicorns will  host them  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
