The Woodlawn Colonels lost against the Parker Thundering Herd back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Woodlawn received a tough blow as they fell 63-48 to Parker. While losing is never fun, Woodlawn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Parker is ranked 42nd).
Parker can attribute much of their success to Ishmael Shelton, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Mykell Echols, who scored 11 points.
Woodlawn has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Parker, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlawn has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Carver Birmingham at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. Carver Birmingham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Parker, they will be playing at home against Pleasant Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
