The Bertie Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Tarboro for the full four quarters, racking up a 93-53 victory on the road. Bertie has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 29 points or more this season.
Bertie was led to victory by Jah'Kelvin Rascoe and Zymiere Dempsey. Rascoe scored 22 points along with six assists and six steals, while Dempsey dropped a triple-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Dempsey pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tequan Holley, who scored 14 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Bertie and bumps their season record up to 17-3. As for Tarboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
Bertie will be playing in front of their home fans against Hertford County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Tarboro, they will head out on the road to square off against Perquimans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tarboro and Perquimans are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
