The South Guilford HomeSchool Cougars lost against the South Wake Sabres back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. South Guilford HomeSchool took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sabres.
Kassidy Bullins and Kourtney Bullins certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Bullins dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Bullins scored 21 points along with two blocks. Bullins has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kailey Bullins, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, South Guilford HomeSchool were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Wake only racked up eight assists.
South Wake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydnee Woolard, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Rebekah Hartzell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
South Guilford HomeSchool's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7. As for South Wake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Guilford HomeSchool won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Faith Christian is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for South Wake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Storm at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
